The Rt. Rev. James Maria Wainaina was consecrated and installed as the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Murang’a in 2009.
Dear to his heart and outreach activities was a retreat centre for priests & religious men. He yearned for a place where priests could rest and have space for personal development to rekindle their spiritual life
In 2013 and with support of the Murang’a Diocese, the St. John Paul II sabbatical centre was officially opened.
